This Vintage Mexican Aztec Cuauhxicalli Sun Calendar Stone Wall Plaque is a stunning representation of ancient Mexican artistry. Measuring 13 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches deep, this piece beautifully reflects the renowned Calendar Stone, originally dedicated by Motecuhzoma II before the conquest.

Crafted with intricate detail, the central figure represents either the sun god Tonatiuh or the earth deity Tlaltecuhtli. While it features the 20 days of the 260-day calendar, it is not a traditional calendar but rather a sacrificial altar, known to the Aztecs as a cuauhxicalli or "eagle vessel."
